Invitation: “Cultural Revolution by the Youth” from Alex Lacson, Best Selling Author of " 12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country"

Subject: Partnership for a “Cultural Revolution”
-------------------------------------------------

Kabayanihan is a foundation that seeks to promote the greatness of the Filipino and our Philippines through cultural transformation.

WE, the members, are ordinary Filipinos – from various walks of life, bound by our faith in God and love for our country, united in our fervent desire to see the Filipino and our Philippines become great and respectable in the eyes of our people and of the world.

We believe that what our country needs today is a Cultural Revolution, a revolution of good citizenship, a revolution of patriotism among our people, even through small acts of patriotism everyday.

We believe that every Filipino should be made part of the solution, that every sector of our society should become part of the answer.

Inspired by the bestselling book (“12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do To Help Our Country”), our group will promote a “Cultural Revolution” on a sectoral approach.

By first quarter 2011, we shall also launch the “Senior Citizens’ Revolution” through the “12 Little Things Senior Citizens Can Do To Help Our Country”. By second quarter 2011, we shall also launch the “12 Little Things Overseas Filipinos Can Do To Help Our Country”.

On 30 November 2010 (Andres Bonifacio Day), Kabayanihan will launch a “Cultural Revolution by the Youth”, during which we shall also unveil the “12 Little Things Every Filipino Youth Can Do To Help Our Country” and the “Classrooms 4R Children” Project.

We are looking for partners – student councils, youth groups, schools, and other like-minded companies and organizations – who share our vision and would like to work with us in pursuing these goals for our youth and our country.

We shall be glad and honored to have you as our major partner in this project.

If you are interested, please contact us at the information indicated below. And we shall be glad to visit and meet with you at your office. We will also send you a copy of the Memorandum of Commitment (MOC) for your review. All partners shall sign the MOC together on November 30, 2010 as an important part of the event.

We hope that you can partner with us in drawing out the patriots and heroes from our citizens in this and future endeavors. We have reserved a section on stage for you as a partner on November 30, 2010. We hope you could be with us on this memorable day for the Philippines.

We believe that every Filipino, wherever he or she may be, can be change agent for our country!

We believe that all the small changes we do would soon bring about the big changes we seek.

We believe that this is people power in action, that this is people power for nation-building!

We believe that every Filipino is a Kabayani – isang kabayan na isa ring bayan ng ating bayan.

International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development (IVD) was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly through Resolution 40/212 on 17 December 1985. Since then, governments, the UN system and civil society organizations have successfully joined volunteers around the world to celebrate the Day on 5 December.
IVD provides an opportunity for volunteer organizations and individual volunteers to work together in projects and campaigns bringing added visibility to their contributions to economic and social development at local, national and international levels. Over the years, rallies, parades, community volunteering projects, environmental awareness, free medical care and speeches by high-ranking government officials has all featured prominently on IVD.

In 1997, the UN General Assembly, convinced that the need for volunteer effort was greater than ever and that a year designed to enhance the recognition, facilitation, networking and promotion of volunteer service could make a significant contribution to generating increased awareness of the achievements and further potential of volunteerism, proclaimed 2001 as the International Year of Volunteers - or 'IYV'.
To consolidate successes attained and build on the momentum created by the International Year of Volunteers, the General Assembly called for the marking of IYV+10 in 2011.
