12th INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!


We are pleased to inform you and your institution that the 12th International Youth Day (IYD) Celebration and Youth and Educators Summit for the Millennium Development Goals (YES4MDGs!) is scheduled on August 3-7, 2011 at the Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center, Iloilo City, Philippines. The 12th IYD celebration is spearheaded by the United Nations Association of the Philippines and United Nations Youth Associations of the Philippines with endorsement from Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Education (DepEd), National Youth Commission (NYC), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines.

UNYAP CARAGA celebrates IYV + 10 through a Feeding Program, December 5, 2010 Butuan City


The Caraga Youth Leaders Network, Inc. (CYLN) and United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines - Caraga (UNYAP) in cooperation with the Timbercity Child Survival Program of the Four Square Gospel Church in the Philippines - Butuan City, Youth On Unity Organization, United Clans of Caraga, Gawad Kalingan Youth Movement - Pagatpatan, Children of Mary, Biology Students Society and Muslim Youth Group conducted the 2010 Children Feeding Exposure at Slaughter Area, Brgy. Obrero, Butuan City on December 5, 2010.

The feeding started at 1: 00 PM by visiting the houses and weighting the children. A short prayer and a story telling were conducted. Then, a short discussion on MDGs of the UN also took place and a mass feeding. Finally, a short games and prayer made the feeding exposure end.










The activity is designed to feed up our children ages 5 to 8 to eradicate malnutrition and hunger in consonance to the Goal # 1 of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations, and in celebration to the 2010 International Volunteers’ Day to achieve the MDGs by 2015. A seed money amounting to $100.00 provided by United Nations Volunteers through Philippine National Volunteers Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) was provided to start up the project.

The feeding exposure attended by more or less 200 children and parents all over the brgy. It is also participated by more or less 50 youths of the Caraga Youth Leaders Network.

The asst. regional coordinator of UNYAP in person of Mr. Cris Barry Burdeos together the program coordinator of the CYLN in person of Ms. Roweana Mae Deliso commended the efforts and cooperation of the parents and the brgy. Ms. Mr.Roberto M. Sabandal II, the UNYAP city coordinator helped the management of inviting other youths of Caraga Region. The brgy. officials of the beneficiary brgy. expressed their heartfelt thanks for the commendable efforts in helping them to eradicate hunger and malnutrition in their brgy.
